Speak out against anti-LGBTQ companies

Tell anti-gay* companies that you take their corporate policies into consideration when you make purchasing decisions.  You can download the Human Rights Campaign’s “Buy 4 Equality” app to see which companies have LGBTQ*-friendly policies.  I just submitted the following comment to Chick-fil-A:

I love Chick-fil-A’s food, and was saddened when I recently discovered that Chick-fil-A is rated 0 out of 100 in the Human Rights Campaign’s Buyer’s Guide.  I consult this guide when I make purchasing decisions because I want to support companies that are committed to workplace quality, particularly with regards to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender employees.  I was dismayed to learn that Chick-fil-A actively supports anti-gay movements and causes at the corporate level, and that Chick-fil-A’s non-discrimination policy does not include sexual orientation or gender identity. I cannot, in good conscience, continue to support Chick-fil-A with my business until Chick-fil-A begins treating LGBTQ individuals, especially their employees, with the equality and respect that they deserve.
