The Human Condition-- philosophy about real life

I read Ellen Hopkins’s “Impulse.”  I was a little disappointed.  Although I read it at a time when depression/suicide were very relevant to my life, I was a little young for some of the content.  My biggest beef, I suppose, is that this book portrays itself as if it’s going to give a comprehensive view into self-injury, exploring it through many different characters, when it reality it’s dealt with very specifically.
